Featuring wines from Champagne Louis Roederer, Castello di Monsanto, Kumeu River, and Tablas Creek Vineyard
Moderated by Wanda Mann

Take a wine lover's tour around the globe in this lively conversation with Ray Isle, author of The World in a Wineglass: The Insider's Guide to Artisanal, Sustainable, Extraordinary Wines to Drink Now. Isle is also the long-time executive wine editor at Food & Wine and the wine and spirits editor for Travel + Leisure.

So much of today's wine is mass-produced, industrially farmed, corporate-owned, and essentially, ordinary. In The World in a Wineglass, Ray Isle explains that the way a wine is made, and who made it, can make a huge difference when you drink it—and why that information matters much more than knowing it scored 90 points. Isle's book takes us on a tour of several hundred independently owned wineries around the world. Isle's enthusiasm for the grape growers and winemakers who are working sustainably or organically shines through as he shares his love for the way a glass of wine can express the place it comes from and capture the essence of the person who made it. Focusing on wines people can afford, rather than $500 rarities, Isle shows us where and how to find the most interesting bottles out there today.

The event will feature a conversation and guided tasting of four wines from producers featured in Isle's book: Champagne Louis Roederer (France), Castello di Monsanto (Italy), Kumeu River (New Zealand), and Tablas Creek Vineyard (California).

The event will be moderated by wine writer Wanda Mann, founder of Wine With Wanda and East Coast Editor at The SOMM Journal. Wanda's writing has been published in Food & Wine and she has been a presenter at the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen, the Women in Wine Leadership Symposium, the Charleston Wine + Food Festival, and the Nantucket Wine & Food Festival.

$30 per person.  6:00pm reception, 6:30pm lecture and tasting. Advanced registrations due by Monday, May 6th at which point it is final sale.  Copies of The World in a Wineglass will be available for sale and signing at the event.
