Maple – More than a Pancake Accoutrement - Sold Out
By the end of February, most people are tired of winter and looking forward to warm days of Spring. On February 20th, as the nearby forests start springing to life with fresh sap flowing throughout the maple trees, join Cornellians to enjoy a maple feast highlighting the bountiful flavors and uses of pure maple syrup.
Dr. Michael Farrell, Director of the Uihlein Forest, Cornell University’s Sugar Maple Research & Extension Field Station in Lake Placid, will be joined by Robb Turner PA ′17, founder of Crown Maple, the largest maple syrup operation in New York, located just a short drive from New York City, to talk all about the intricacies of pure maple and share some of the many delicious products that can be made from the sweet sap of maple trees. The program will be accompanied by a tasting of a wide variety of maple products as well as syrups made from the sap of birch and walnut trees. The luncheon to follow will feature pure maple syrup in a variety of dishes prepared by Chef Michael Rizzo! Bring the family and enjoy a sugary sweet maple experience.
