Williamsburg, Brooklyn Walking Tour and The Annual Raising of The Giglio at The Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Feast

Join us after work for a tour of one of Brooklyn's "hot" trend-setting destinations for food, art and culture, with a focus on the diversity of Williamsburg, from the hipster to the Italian to the Hasidic. Stops include the Bedford Avenue Theatre, where Fanny Brice performed; the world-famous Peter Lugers steakhouse; the landmark Williamsburg Savings Bank; the New England Congregational Church, an anchor for the abolitionist movement; and the Williamsburg Bridge, once the longest suspension bridge in the world. We end with plenty of food and nightlife options at the annual Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel (Brooklyn's answer to the San Gennaro Festival) with the annual raising by 60 men, in honor of the saint, of the Giglio - a 72 foot high tower - that shows the powerful devotion to faith, family and cultural heritage. This happens only once a year and this is the only evening for the Giglio lift! Catch it with us before it leaves!

6:00pm tour. $30 per person. Advance reservations required by Monday, July 11th at which time they are considered final sale. Participants should be fully vaccinated and mask wearing is encouraged.
