Joe McKay '61 has written a book that pays tribute to the remarkable global influence of the English language. Crazy About Words a collection of smart and humorous essays, illustrates the expansive and flexible qualities of what is now the world's lingua franca.

Joe will entertainingly portray the phenomenal evolution of English from four-letter words and will read from several of his insightful essays. He will discuss fascinating examples of art that have been crafted from language, plus the humorous yet embarrassing situations we often find ourselves in using words.

And, certainly important for many of us, Joe will share how he reinvented himself as a writer and speaker, following a corporate career in Human Resources, and many subsequent years as co-owner of an executive outplacement firm here in NYC. In preparing for his present incarnation, Joe drew heavily upon lessons not learned during his undergraduate days at Cornell.

12:00-1:30pm.  $25 per person, includes a signed copy of Crazy About Words and a lunch buffet.  Advance reservations required by Friday, May 1st, at which time they are considered final sale.
