What's between a book club and a seminar? We invite you to join our group of literary enthusiasts and find out!

The Seminar Book Club meets once a month in the Big Red Tap and Grill. Serious fiction or non-fiction, both classics and newer works, will be chosen for literary and intellectual merit. Each book will be chosen by a "seminar leader" who will then lead the discussion.

Meenakshi Chakraverti, Club member and Cornell PhD in social anthropology, will play the role of seminar leader for the first book or two. Once the book club gets going, she would welcome volunteers to take on the role of seminar leader for further books and discussions. The seminar leader will prepare to lead and deepen a discussion and is invited to send additional articles that raise good questions or provide additional perspectives on the material of the book.

Plan to meet up in the Big Red Tap & Grill, get a drink (and some food if you want!), and talk about the book, pushing both intellectual inquiry and having fun!

March 2023: The Seminar Book Club has decided to read The Rosie Project by Graeme Simpson. The discussion will be led by club member, Amanda Glik.
