Real doctors treat more than one species. That's the running joke told at Cornell University's College of Veterinary Medicine, where Dr. Wild was groomed to become a wildlife veterinarian. This talk is geared for adults and youth alike as we peruse the pages of Dr. Wild's newest National Geographic Kids' book Wild Vet Adventures: Saving Animals Around the World with Dr. Gabby Wild where we will learn about some of Earth's most incredible critters and how we must treat our patients medically, surgically, and behaviourally. The talk will also delve into another aspect of wildlife medicine: conservation and public health. We review various components of public health protection from zoonotic disease transmission, human-animal conflict, and environmental contamination. Learn more about how these incredible animals and how we mitigate their threats.

Following the discussion, a live animal presentation will be provided, showcasing rescued, local wildlife.

Dr. Gabby Wild BS '11, DVM '16 has traveled the world to save animals.
