Chocolate Chip Cookies Ingredients: • 1/2 lb (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened • 1/2 cup granulated sugar • 1 1/2 cups light brown sugar • 2 large eggs • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract • 1 teaspoon baking soda • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder • 1 teaspoon sea salt or Kosher salt • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour • 2 1/4 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips Directions: • Preheat the oven to 350F degrees. • In a mixer fitted with the paddle attachment on medium speed, cream the butter and sugars, until light and fluffy, about five minutes. • With the mixer off, use a plastic spatula to scrape down the sides and bottom of the mixer. Add both eggs and vanilla and beat an additional two minutes. • Scrape down the sides of the bowl and add the baking soda, baking powder, and salt. With the mixer on medium-low, slowly add the flour and mix until well incorporated. Add the chocolate chips until well distributed. The batter should be on the thick side. • On a buttered or parchment lined cookie tray, drop about two tablespoons of cookie batter per cookie, making sure to space each cookie at least two to three inches apart. • Bake for 6 minutes, then rotate the pan and bake for an additional 6 minutes, until the edges begin to brown. Cool the cookies for at least 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack or a cool non porous surface to finish cooling. Have you dined in the newly refurbished Cayuga Room recently?
